We'll go at an easy, conversational pace with plenty of stops, so you don't need to be a serious hiker. You just need to show up.

Come expecting to make a friend. If something more comes of it, great. If not, you still spent a Sunday outside with good people.

What to know

• Bring water, a snack if needed, and shoes you can walk in; it might be a little messy

• Dress in layers, since late September mornings are chilly

• Dogs are welcome if they're friendly with people and other dogs (leashed, please)
